At the London International Wine Fair our goal was to introduce our company and our wines, focusing on indigenous varieties like Moschofilero and Assyrtiko whites, and classic reds like Xinomavro and Agiorgitiko. These together with two traditional Greek wines Retsina (Traditional Appellation) and Mavrodaphne of Patras (Protected Designation of Origin) will be presented at our Masterclass on Wednesday 18th May (3pm).
A few words about Masterclass…
Old world traditions meet new world philosophies at this fastest growing and third largest winery in Greece presenting at LIWF for the first time. Argyris Skouloudis, the second generation owner, sees INO as the gateway for today’s wine drinkers to rediscover the character, aromas and tastes of some great indigenous Greek varietals. With export sales already rising by 45% over the last two years Argyris believes it is the right time to introduce UK consumers to something new.
He has engaged renowned experts on Greek wines to lead us through the vineyards of Greece as we discover the special characteristics of classic reds like Xinomavro (which means acid black) and Agiorgitiko (the grape of St George) along with leading and award-winning whites Moschofilero and Assyrtiko. There will also be new insights into traditional Greek Retsina and Mavrodaphne of Patras.
